Upcoming Clinics include:

9:45am-10:45am  Optional 3.5 mile trail run (maps will be provided)

11:00am-1:00pm  PTC picnic

12:00pm Draw names for West Point Lake relay teams

Are you a new triathlete and haven't had a chance to swim in the lake yet?  Or are you signed up for a race this spring/summer and haven't gotten your open water swim practice in?  We HIGHLY recommend getting comfortable in open water, because it will make your racing experience EVEN BETTER!

Come join us for an Open Water Swim Clinic/Group Workout with Coach Mari!

We will meet at Red Top Mountain Lodge at Lake Allatoona. Look for the PTC tent on the lawn behind the Lodge.

Coach Mari will cover the following topics:

  • What to expect
  • Maintaining comfort and composure
  • Navigation
  • Safety
  • Racing
  • Wetsuit

After the clinic, we'll hit the water for a swim in a protected area of the lake. Bring your wetsuit as the water could be chilly. We'll have friends in kayaks/canoes to ensure everyone's comfort in the water. Afterwards, you are invited to join Jennifer Jestel for a 3.5 mile trail run around the Lodge area, and we'll have a picnic waiting when you return!

Club members are asked to bring a covered dish or pay $5 per person to cover food provided by the club. Please bring your own beverages and lawn chairs.

Please let us know you are coming so we can get enough food for all. Add your name and details to the Google spreadsheet provided in the weekly newsletter.

We will also be drawing names for the West Point Lake Relay teams, June 12, 2011.

This race is has been a club favorite for years, perfect for those wanting to join other club members at a fun event! Names will be drawn for teams and then team members can determine who does which portion of the triathlon.

Details and Directions to Red Top Mountain Lodge

(You will want to bring $5 cash to cover parking, as well as $5 if you are not planning on bringing a dish).
